Prima Venna

It used to be called The Wastes, The Voids, The Heaps —- It was a mostly uncharted void, filled with enough asteroids to make passage not worth the risk to the ships. Civilizations by the rim were plagued with pirating, crime, and just the environmental dangers. It took centuries for anyone to even think of trying to push in deeper.

The group that did, the Lorkai, were a bureaucratic, political, capitalistic, backstabbing race. Their aim for pushing into Quadrant Zeta was to colonize and bastardize, but what they found was a ragtag grouping of planets with enough citizens to make that more difficult than their bottom line would allow. The Global Coalition invited them to a table for Peace Talks.

What resulted was a tentative agreement. Chancellor Rush, a fine and well respected diplomat was installed as a temporary ambassador for the region. He was to be a block to the Lorkai and be a watchdog, as well as to foster the growing relationship between the backwater planets and the rest of the Galactic confederacy. Chancellor Rush was joined by an elected official from the wastes, an alien woman named Prima Venna -- a singer of high regard, beloved of the people. She stands by his side to see the future for the Wastes is a good one.
